THE ROLE OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF INTERCULTURAL INTERACTION IN THE ХХІ CENTURY

Abstract

This article analyzes the impact of digital technologies and virtual communication on the development of intercultural interaction in the 21st century. In the context of today's global digital transformation, intercultural communication has transcended space and time and has become an everyday practice in social, professional, and educational spheres. Although online platforms and social networks have expanded the scale and intensity of cultural exchange, they also create new challenges, such as communication distortions, a superficial perception of cultural differences, and the reinforcement of stereotypes.

This study examines intercultural communication as a multidimensional phenomenon, and reinterprets its characteristics in the digital environment within the context of classical theoretical models. The author demonstrates that digital technologies, on the one hand, enable the preservation and representation of cultural identity, and on the other, enhance processes of cultural unification and communication standardization. This article focuses on the influence of globalization, digitalization, and migration mobility on the dynamics of intercultural relations. The results of the study reveal the contradictory nature of contemporary intercultural interaction and confirm the relevance of developing effective communication strategies aimed at strengthening mutual understanding in the context of a global digital society.
